End Of The World is an EP from Phoenix-based indie singer-songwriter Joey Gutos, accompanied by a film shot against the vast landscapes of Arizona’s Mogollon Rim. The project tells the story of leaving behind a life that feels broken while the world around you seems to be burning uncontrollably.

What begins as an escape into the wilderness in search of something better eventually leads to an uncomfortable realization: wherever you go, there you are. Distance can change the scenery, but it can’t outrun the insecurities, patterns and internal struggles we carry with us. Miles into the forest and removed from the noise of everyday life, the search turns inward, culminating in an instrumental finale centered on acceptance, personal responsibility and finding peace from within.

The EP builds upon themes that have followed Gutos throughout his solo career: identity, human connection, nature and the American Southwest, delivered through a guitar-forward blend of indie rock, alternative pop and folk-rooted songwriting. His debut single, “Everything (That I Need),” was featured in the Arizona Trail documentary Adventure Lives At Home and inspired an ongoing pledge to plant one tree for every 1,000 streams.

Gutos has performed at Crescent Ballroom, Valley Bar, The Rebel Lounge, Last Exit Live and Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts; shared stages with Marc Broussard, Abe Parker and Ian McConnell; and appeared on the Ostrich Festival main stage alongside The Beach Boys.

End Of The World brings those threads together into a record about trying to escape everything around you, traveling far enough to believe you finally have, and discovering that what you were searching for was with you all along.
